Hosting the Community reporting tool

You can help your community report experiences of discrimination, sexual harassment, vilification, hate speech, victimisation, a human rights concern, or change or suppression practices by hosting our Community Reporting Tool (CRT).  Our CRT is a quick and confidential way for people to report what has happened.  By being a host, you will help make reporting easier.

What is the CRT

The CRT is a reporting portal to the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (the Commission) that can be hosted on any website. It allows people to report experiences of discrimination, sexual harassment, vilification, hate speech, victimisation, a human rights concern, and change or suppression practices.

De-identified data from reports can be used by governments and organisations to better understand what’s happening in communities.

For more information about the CRT, select here.

About hosting the CRT

If you want to host the CRT on your organisation’s website, you need to contact us on 1300 292 153 or email enquiries@veohrc.vic.gov.au

We will send you instructions on how to embed the tool on your website. As the CRT is open source it is very easy to embed on your website. This a free a free service provided by the Commission.

The CRT is also available on our website.

The host organisation cannot see the reports – they are only hosting the CRT portal and reports only go to the Commission.

Design options for the CRT

We have created five different design options for the CRT. Each design was created to help different communities connect with and relate to the CRT.  The CRT is not different – it is the same portal – it is only the banner across the top of the CRT that can be changed to suit your organisation’s preferences. The design options enables host organisations to choose a banner that connects with their communities when hosting the CRT on their website.

The following design options are available and pictured below:

  • First Peoples
  • LGBTIQA+
  • Disability
  • Multi-cultural
  • Women and gender

The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission acknowledges that we work on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We also work remotely and serve communities on the lands of other Traditional Custodians.

We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission recognises the injustice resulting from the colonial invasion and occupation of First Peoples’ territories and the Yoorrook Justice Commission’s findings of genocide, crimes against humanity and denial of freedoms.
