Ambulance Victoria review – Update 24 (25 October 2024)

Phase 3 of the Commission’s workplace equality review of Ambulance Victoria is progressing rapidly. The progress evaluation audit is assessing Ambulance Victoria’s progress towards implementing the 25 priority recommendations from Phase 1 of the review.

25 October 2024

I’m pleased to provide this update on the Commission’s Independent review into workplace equality at Ambulance Victoria.

Since my last update, the Commission has been busy briefing key stakeholders on the findings of the progress evaluation audit and will continue these briefings over the next several weeks. During these briefings, it has been clear that there is a strong commitment to the reforms, as well as an acknowledgement of the important work still to be done.

The Commission is now drafting the Progress Evaluation Audit report. The report will include a comprehensive analysis of Ambulance Victoria’s work to progress the implementation of the 25 priority recommendations from the Phase 1 review. It will also outline a series of enablers and barriers to the reform process that the Commission has identified during the Progress Evaluation Audit.

Addressing and reducing barriers to reform, while actively promoting reform enablers, will help Ambulance Victoria to foster a transparent and effective operational environment. Removing barriers is crucial for unravelling entrenched issues that have long impacted the organisation. Harnessing reform enablers will pave the way for a cohesive and adaptive approach to workforce transformation, enabling meaningful and lasting change into the future.

We are producing the Progress Evaluation Report as a digital resource to ensure the diverse needs of readers will be met through the user friendly and accessible online format.
