22 November 2024
I am very pleased to provide this final update on the Commission’s Independent review into workplace equality at Ambulance Victoria.
November has been a busy month for the Commission. Since my last update, the Commission has continued to brief key stakeholders on the high-level findings of this final phase of the review.
We have now concluded the natural justice process for the Progress Evaluation Audit report with Ambulance Victoria. The completed final report includes the findings on Ambulance Victoria’s progress to implement the 25 priority recommendations, alongside barriers and enablers to reform.
The digital report will be published on 21 January 2025 and will be publicly available on the Commission’s website. The accessible online format will allow for flexible engagement and has been designed to explain our findings through multimodal avenues.
Although this report marks the end of our direct involvement in the reforms, the Commission is committed to supporting workplace equality at Ambulance Victoria through our advocacy of stronger legal protections and meaningful change for all people in Victoria. If you have experienced discrimination, sexual harassment, victimisation or bullying and need support, please refer to our support service and referral directory, or you can contact our Enquiry Line on 1300 292 153 for more information.
To all who took part in this review at Ambulance Victoria: your experiences with workplace harm have been essential to this important work. We know Ambulance Victoria’s workforce is central to the success of these reforms. I hope this Progress Evaluation Audit Report supports the ongoing efforts of the workforce to create a safe, respectful, and valued workplace at Ambulance Victoria for everyone.
Warmly
