Ambulance Victoria review – Update 6 (20 May 2021)

The research stage of the Independent review into workplace equality in Ambulance Victoria concludes on 31 May, so this is the final opportunity for current and former employees and volunteers/first responders to have their say.

20 May 2021

This is the last opportunity for you to participate in the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission’s Independent review into workplace equality at Ambulance Victoria, before the research stage of the review concludes on 31 May.

Following on from Commissioner Hilton’s update last week, we remain committed to hearing from as many employees and first responders as possible about the state of workplace equality at AV.

How you can participate

There are still opportunities for you to participate before 31 May.

  • Focus groups: Be a part of the Commission’s focus group on 28 May (2pm – 4pm) considering how AV should be promoting and prioritising workplace equality. If you haven’t had a chance to register, but would like to join, please contact us on 1300 395 726 or at AVreview@veohrc.vic.gov.au. We’re keen to hear from you!
  • Site visits: The Review Team is out at Bendigo and Maldon/Castlemaine today. The team will also be out at Wesley Court on 26 May and Lismore, Mailors Flat, Norlane and Warrnambool between 27 and 28 May. If you’re going to be at those sites, please feel free to stop by and have a chat. If you’re interested, you can find out more here.

Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to share experiences, insights and ideas with us – whether through the online survey, interviews or submissions, or chatting to us on a site visit. Your contributions are vital to informing our understanding of the state of workplace equality in AV.

From 1 June, the Commission will carefully consider everything we’ve heard about the state of workplace equality at AV and start formulating our findings and recommendations. We will be in touch again in early June to let you know what will be happening with the review over the coming months, leading up to the publication of our final report in November.

Take care
The Review Team
